As a vibrant, growing theatre company rooted in Scarborough, GFT is dedicated to creating exceptional live performances and building community through the arts. We are seeking new members to join our Board of Directors!
Board Responsibilities and Duties
GFT’s Board plays a vital role in guiding the organization’s vision, ensuring strong governance, and supporting the theatre’s sustainability. Board duties include:
Ensuring our governance and decision-making are as strong and transparent as our creative work.
Supporting fundraising and connecting GFT with new partners, and opportunities.
Overseeing the financial health of the company.
Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidates have a track record in a governance role within a non-profit environment, and have one or more of the following skills:
Fundraising;
Human resources and personnel management;
Legal/regulatory experience;
Working knowledge of how to read and analyze financial statements.
But GFT also values anyone who brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a commitment to our mission.

Required Time Commitment
The board meets 4 times a year and in between meetings can be expected to contribute approximately 4-6 hours each month.
Term
