Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators
The Ontario Arts Council's Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators is a program designed to support the development of new work by Ontario-based theatre creators. This program provides funding for creators to work on the early stages of a theatre project, such as research, exploration, and writing. What makes this grant unique is that funding recommendations are made by third-party recommenders, and we’re excited that Guild Festival Theatre is returning as a recommender organization this year!
Our Priorities
Creators living in or from Scarborough, Durham and eastern Ontario.
Creators that reflect our diverse community.
Work that aligns with our mandate of reimagining classics. We take a purposefully broad definition of classics to encompass content, form, and history and we're interested in how creators are inspired by the past to create new work that speaks to the present moment.
