The Veil
By Keith Barker & Thomas Morgan Jones
Directed by Helen Juvonen
Our darkest secrets hide just behind the veil.
From celebrated theatre-makers Keith Barker and Thomas Morgan Jones comes The Veil. Inspired by classic horror writers like Edgar Allan Poe and Shirley Jackson, this haunting new play will follow you long after you leave the theatre.
When a high-powered lawyer takes on a sinister curse, every terrible deed he’s ever committed stirs to life and lurks just beyond his sight. As reality blurs into nightmare, The Veil spirals into a pulse-quickening race against time.
The Veil is a Thought For Food production in association with Guild Festival Theatre.
The Veil was developed through In Conversation With Classics, Guild Festival Theatre's program for new play development. It premiered at Crow’s Theatre in Autumn 2025, and was included as part of Glenn Sumi’s Top 10 Toronto Theatre Productions of 2025 and NEXT Magazine’s Top 10 Favourite Plays of 2025. Sound Designer Ashley Naomi was the recipient of the Toronto Theatre Critics’ Award in Best Sound Design and Music of a Play or Musical for 2025.
